Teaching Personnel can provide a unique opportunity to graduates to gain paid experience within a school which will help an application for a teaching qualification.
A Manchester based school is looking to recruit a graduate teaching assistant to support on a 1 to 1 basis in the classroom. The school itself is comprised of 2 forms, with a diverse range of students. This role in particular would be to support an SEN child, providing a positive influence and someone the child can build trust with.
The ideal candidate will be:
- A degree in a relevant field (psychology, early years etc.)
- Effective at managing behaviour
- Nurturing and able to build positive relationships
- Excellent numeracy/literacy skills
This role will include:
- Supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis who is new to the school
- Providing academic intervention on the core subjects including English, Maths and Science
- Mentoring the pupil
- Deescalating challenging situations
- Providing positive encouragement for the pupil
- Helping them to adapt to the new school environment
