Overview DescriptionEmployerLocation Ashmount School is a four time Outstanding rated school currently providing education for 205 pupils aged 4 -19 with a wide range of learning disabilities and is situated in Loughborough. In January 2014 the school was re-located on to Thorpe Hill to a purpose-built new build special school which has since had an EYFS extension and a new build 2 classroom building on site. The new school is a state of-the-art building with excellent facilities designed to further increase the quality of education and care we provide. We seek to appoint a Premises Officer to undertake responsibility for the maintenance, security, health & safety of the school site including grounds, buildings, facilities, school vehicles and equipment as well as our on site pool, ensuring that they operate efficiently and effectively. All relevant training will be provided. To ensure that pupils are provided with a safe, clean and attractive learning environment which will enhance their achievement and enjoyment. The Post (Please also refer to the Job Description and Person Specification) The hours of work are 37 per week, full time permanent This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with relevant experience and ambition to join our successful team. Responsibilities Maintain, secure and oversee health & safety of the school site including grounds, buildings, facilities, school vehicles and equipment, and our on site pool. Ensure all premises operate efficiently and effectively; participate in routine maintenance and repairs as required. Coordinate on-site safety, security procedures and environmental health measures. Support training and supervision as needed to ensure safe operation of facilities. The Right Candidate Demonstrate previous experience and ‘DIY skills’ to identify, monitor and carry out minor repairs, maintenance and redecoration. Demonstrate knowledge of moving and handling procedures and be physically able to carry out the physical tasks of the role (e.g. lifting, shifting, clearing snow etc). Demonstrate knowledge of Health & Safety and hygiene procedures and precautions. Demonstrate good communication skills that allow effective communication with all levels of school staff, governors, pupils, contractors and outside users of the school.
