Your role As part of Capgemini Invent’s continued growth in the public sector we are seeking proven management consultants. Base locations can be London, Manchester or Glasgow, with an expectation of regular travel to client sites as part of our hybrid working pattern. Responsibilities Deliver excellent service to public sector clients as part of project teams. Take responsibility for managing smaller projects or workstreams to cost, time and quality, effectively managing risks and issues. Manage, support and develop junior colleagues to deliver excellent client service, quality assuring their work as required. Interface with client stakeholders and build effective client relationships. Support business growth through development of your client network and proactive identification of client needs in a sell‑deliver model, including proposal development and bidding activities. Build strong Capgemini communities through active contribution to practice development, knowledge management and collaboration with colleagues. Additional opportunities Business Development – contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution and client hosting at events. Internal contribution – campaign development, internal think‑tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities) and offering development. Learning & development – training to support career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications, etc. Your profile You will already have experience leading or supporting programmes and projects in the public sector from a major consulting firm, and you will be experienced at working in a matrixed organisation. Qualifications Proven intellectual strength – educated to degree level or equivalent. A broad consulting skillset likely to include a combination of: Evidence of excellent project delivery in the public sector, with experience of agile and waterfall delivery methods. Evidence of project or workstream leadership, including management of risks/issues, team member management and commercial aspects of delivery. Evidence of a strong analytical mindset and the application of relevant frameworks to identify business pain points, user needs and develop solutions. Evidence of understanding and practical application of aspects of transformation design and delivery, including target operating model design, business analysis methods, operational excellence methods, change management, business case development, benefits realisation, portfolio, programme and project delivery. Excellent presentation and articulation skills – outstanding written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex problems or solutions. High levels of emotional intelligence – evidence of engaging and managing public sector stakeholders, an understanding of public sector cultures and ways of working. Good understanding of commercial aspects of consultancy – evidence of scoping and pricing work packages, managing commercial performance of projects or bidding for public sector contracts. Candidates will be collaborative and used to working in mixed capability teams to deliver excellent client outcomes. You’ll have a growth mindset and be able to evidence continuous development to support your own professional development and provide the best advice to clients. Formal certifications are beneficial but not essential. Relevant certifications include APM or other programme/project delivery certifications, PROSCI or other change management certifications, SCRUM or other Agile certifications, Better Business Case accreditations, LEAN or equivalent certifications.
