Salary: £55,000. Full‑time, permanent contract (40 hours per week). The role supports study skills across our partnerships with BSU, UoS, CCCU, OBU and Pearson, collaborating with subject lecturers and developing curriculum from Foundation to Master’s level. Responsibilities Design and document bespoke courses, digital resources, workshop plans and individual schemes of work to develop study skills within curricula. Deliver and evaluate teaching, identifying areas for improvement to enhance the quality of teaching, learning and the overall student experience, in line with the GBS Learning and Teaching strategy. Provide feedback on individual and class progress in academic writing and other relevant study skills. Offer tutorial consultations with students, giving constructive comments tailored to each student’s needs and suggesting ways to improve work and working practices. Record appointment details for statistical, evaluation and quality purposes, and refer students to other services when appropriate. Engage with VLE and research resources, facilitating student learning through online resources and activities. Contribute to GBS quality assurance systems and processes. Qualifications Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable). Previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area. Successful track record of teaching adult learners from diverse backgrounds on HE programmes. Proven experience providing individual and group study‑skills support in response to identified learning needs. Willingness to lead a specific area of literacy development (e.g., reading, writing, critical thinking, numeracy, digital skills, research skills, project and dissertation support, peer‑assisted learning). High level of digital literacy and advanced communication skills. Desirable Qualifications Expertise in digital educational resources development, course design and curriculum development. DELTA qualification. Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during probation and complete within three years) or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent).
