Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been re-engaged by a past client, a recognised local employer and highly successful engineering focussed trading on a national scale. The company seeks to recruit an interim Management Accountant to join their friendly and experienced finance team. This is a full time, contract position with an initial anticipated duration of 3 months and the company promtes a hybrid working pattern - 2/3 days per week at the company headquarters in Truro. ***Please note that there is potential for this role to convert to a permanent contract***Reporting to and working closely with the company’s Financial Controller, the successful candidate will enjoy a varied role whilst also supervising a small team of transactional focussed finance. This will be a broader role than typical, almost blurring the lines of Finance Manager. Key responsibilities to include:- Production of high quality management accounts with associated commentary- Assume a key role in managing the day-to-day operational finance function of the business- Nominal ledger review- Accrual and prepayments- Produce monthly reporting packs and financial analysis- Working collaboratively with the FC and CFO, assume a key role in developing system and process improvements- Cost control- Month end journal entries and reconciliations- Preparation cash flow forecasts- Assist in year end and audit processesFor this role we seek an experienced candidate, either part/fully professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), or qualified through vocational experience. Previous experience gained within a manufacturing and/or stock holding business, or with exposure to physical inventory’s would be advantageous though not essential. The company is highly technology focussed so a sound understanding of digital accounting platforms and strong MS Excel skills will be essential. This is a visible role within the business, working as part of a small team and regularly liaising with colleagues outside of finance so excellent leadership and relationship building skills will be essential.This employer has an exceptional reputation for staff retention and general development and this marks a rare opportunity to join a successful, caring and energetic business.
