Mechanical Engineering Lecturer Location: John Ruskin College - Croydon, East Surrey College - Redhill Salary: £31,990 - £41,718 (subject to qualifications, skills, and experience) Hours: Full Time (37 hours a week) Closing Date: 15/12/2025 Job Overview We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to join our busy and professional Engineering department where you will deliver teaching across our BTEC and new T Level qualifications to both our HE and FE students. Working closely with the Director of Learning, Programme Manager and the rest of the Engineering team, you will share industry knowledge and skills with learners to help them achieve at the highest level as well as drive continuous improvement within the College. Responsibilities Deliver specific units across BTEC & T Level programmes Write associated assignments in line with awarding body requirements Develop programme and course materials Provide tutorial/pastoral support for your tutor group Promote attendance, participate in team meetings and support quality processes Qualifications A teaching qualification A degree within Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (a level 5 qualification may be considered) Significant engineering industry experience Previous teaching experience including delivery of the BTEC and/or EAL qualifications Experience of quality assurance Experience of practical engineering (machining) is also an advantage but not essential.
