As a Home Delivery Driver, you’ll be one of our Christmas Champions, delivering everything our online customers shop for at Sainsbury’s. Eligibility You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it. You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview, and, if successful, a driving assessment when you join us. You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK. What you’ll be doing Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps on time and in great condition. Complete checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before driving. Serve customers brilliantly, supporting questions and substitutions, and keeping them aware of any delays. Build great knowledge of our products, services and promotions to provide recommendations. When not out making deliveries, help across the store as needed. Proficient driving a large vehicle in different locations, from busy streets to narrow lanes, delivering to a variety of residential properties. Flexible and productive, ready to work across the store when needed – you’ll be fully trained in a variety of skills and opportunities to learn and develop. Comfortable learning to use new digital tools and technology to do your job brilliantly, and moving shopping containers up to 15 kg.
