Job Purpose: As a Youth Offending Officer, you’ll work to reduce offending and re‑offending among children and young people through case management, restorative approaches, and evidence‑based interventions. You’ll manage a caseload of young people, supporting their rehabilitation and promoting social inclusion, safety, and welfare. What You Will Do: Manage a caseload of children and young people aged 10–17 subject to Youth Justice interventions. Conduct thorough assessments using AssetPlus and other relevant tools. Develop and deliver tailored intervention plans with young people, parents, and partner agencies. Monitor compliance with legal orders and take enforcement action where necessary. Prepare detailed reports for Youth and Crown Courts. Deliver restorative justice programmes and structured interventions addressing offending behaviour. Support young people’s reintegration into education, training, or employment. Undertake family‑based interventions to strengthen protective factors and parenting capacity. Collaborate with partners including Police, Probation, Education, Social Care, CAMHS, and Health services. Attend multi‑agency meetings such as risk panels and child protection conferences. Promote safeguarding and manage risks related to exploitation and substance misuse. Maintain accurate records in line with Trust and Youth Justice Board (YJB) requirements. Qualifications and Experience: Qualification in Social Work, Youth Justice, Probation, or a related discipline. Proven experience working with children and young people within youth justice, social care, or criminal justice sectors. Strong knowledge of legislation, safeguarding, and youth justice frameworks.
