St Michael's Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) to support our children during lunchtime provision, starting in January 2026. This part‑time position is a key component of our lunchtime operations, ensuring pupils are provided with a healthy and enjoyable meal experience. Contract: Fixed Term (until 31st August 2026). Working Hours: Part time (7.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 38 weeks per year). We are an open and inclusive primary school, educating children between the ages of 5 and 11 years. Located in the garrison town of Larkhill, Wiltshire, our school aims to spark interest, ignite a passion for learning and fire up ambition to inspire every child to recognise and exceed expectations. Our staff provide a challenging, yet nurturing, environment based on our Christian values and we are committed to learning outside the classroom, as much as inside; with regular trips planned and visitors invited in to help make the learning relevant and linked to both our local community and the wider world. In May 2022, we joined Acorn Education Trust, which has provided exciting opportunities to improve local education and draw on collective experience. Responsibilities Responsible for supervising and assisting children in the dining area and/or supervising them during inside/outside play, you will support other members of staff to ensure that our school lunchtime period runs smoothly while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all children at all times. The role will involve the receipt and storage of school meal delivery, preparing and cleaning the dining area before and after and lunch as well as serving meals to children. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and are able to work with a variety of pupils and staff; Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills; Is self‑motivated, dedicated and consistent; Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations; Is a strong team player who can use their own initiative; Has a positive and flexible attitude; Has First Aid training, or is willing to complete it; Enjoys working with children and has the ability to devise creative indoor / outdoor play activities for them; Is happy to assist with general dining hall / kitchen cleaning and maintenance duties.
