Building Maintenance Engineer

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer This role maintains, installs, and refurbishes fabric and equipment across the GBS UK estates portfolio. The engineer monitors the condition of GBS buildings, undertakes repairs and renovations, and assists Estates and Facilities in the planning of refurbishment projects. Travel to other GBS UK campuses may be required and flexible working is needed to accommodate business operations. Working 40 hours per week, the engineer covers campus operating hours from Monday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 9:30 pm, with occasional out‑of‑hours work as needed to minimise disruption and ensure the smooth completion of maintenance tasks. What The Role Involves Preventative and Reactive Maintenance Building and Equipment Maintenance Health, Safety, and Compliance Documentation and Inventory Management Refurbishment and Fit‑Out Projects Travel and Flexibility Experience And Skills Required 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard. Previous experience in building maintenance including M&E systems. Manual skills, knowledge of refurbishment techniques. A flexible and proactive approach to work with a "can do" attitude. Familiarity with COSHH requirements for the equipment and chemicals being used. Interpersonal skill and ability to work on your own but also as part of the wider facilities team.
