Education Welfare Officer/Attendance Manager

Overview Outwood Grange Academy is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead our attendance strategy and ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive. This pivotal role requires a confident leader who can effectively implement policy, manage a small team, and provide targeted support to students and families facing attendance challenges. Key Responsibilities Lead the attendance strategy and implement related policy. Manage a small team to provide targeted support to students and families. Conduct home visits to support families and improve student attendance. Manage legal processes and coordinate casework intervention. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Support children whose education is at risk and help families maximise educational opportunities, particularly vulnerable groups. Qualifications & Skills Excellent communication skills. Strong organisational and energetic disposition. Ability to remain calm in a busy environment. Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Working Pattern & Duration Monday to Thursday, 8:00am until 4:00pm, and 8:00am until 3:30pm on Fridays. This is a full-year position with annual leave entitlement. As a maternity cover, the end date of this role is 27 November 2026 or when the employee returns to work. Requirements UK driving licence and a car for home visits.
