Manufacturing Engineer at Allied Vehicles Group At Allied Vehicles, we design, develop and manufacture a wide range of specialist vehicles—including wheelchair accessible vehicles, taxis, and minibuses. We also provide aftersales services and are Scotland’s largest independent parts distributor. We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our operations department. The role involves creating, planning, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to meet production targets and support the functional roadmap. Hours of work: Monday to Wednesday, 7 am–6 pm and Thursday 7 am–5:30 pm. Salary: Up to £45 k DOE. Benefits Generous annual leave: 25 days + 8 bank holidays Group life scheme and annual profit share Annual salary reviews for performance reward 24/7 virtual GP support via HealthHero Industry‑leading perks, holiday purchase scheme, and EV leasing through OctopusEV Free staff parking and on‑site cafeteria Cycle‑to‑work scheme to support sustainable commuting Frequent learning and development opportunities After‑sales discounts for you and your family Recognition and long‑service awards program The Main Duties Of The Role Are Develop and implement production continuous improvement plans Support delivery of production targets Implement process controls and drive efficiencies Remove waste and report on business KPIs Lead change management initiatives Own SOPs, tools, and fixtures Manage and lead cross‑functional teams Lead all functions in the production process Train and install production methodology and approach Present to all levels of the organisation Follow a defined process and complete company documentation where necessary Collaborate with other staff to maintain a positive work environment Follow all health and safety requirements and bring relevant matters to management attention To Be Effective In This Role, You Will Have Manufacturing knowledge aligned to key principles of manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, and root‑cause corrective action Proven experience delivering continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment, covering production, cost and delivery A degree in mechanical engineering or a related subject Black Belt in Six Sigma or equivalent lean practice Experience in automotive manufacturing is advantageous but not essential We are an Equal Opportunities employer and encourage applications from all members of the community.
