Children's Paediatric Critical Care Outreach Nurse We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Children's Paediatric Critical Care Outreach Nurse to provide their expertise to the existing established Paediatric Critical Care Outreach team. team. Our Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) provides Level 3 ICU and high dependency care and treats some of the most seriously ill children who come to us from across East London and beyond. We are also an on take service for the North Thames Children's Acute Transport Service, CATS, and our nurses rotate to CATS nursing shifts. We also have a dedicated remit to assess and elevate the deteriorating patient within the paediatric wards. The role will also help develop the critical care outreach service within the children's hospital, advanced nursing practice and support the expansion of the PCCU network. For both documents, please view the attachment/s below. Person Specification Qualifications and Experience RSCN / RN Child with current NMC registration Educated to degree level or working towards. Paediatric Intensive Care Course/415, or A and E course or equivalent advanced practice clinical course Preparation for Mentorship course or equivalent Evidence of continued professional development APLS Advanced assessment of the deteriorating patient or willingness to undertake the course. Knowledge Communicates in a manner that is consistent with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Communicates with people in a form and manner that: - Is consistent with their level of understanding, culture, background and preferred ways of communicating. - Is appropriate to the purpose of the communication and the context in which it is taking place - Encourages the effective participation of all involved Is proactive in seeking out different styles and methods of communicating to assist longer term needs and aims Provides feedback to other workers on their communication at appropriate times Takes a proactive role in producing accurate and complete records of communication consistent with legislation, policies and procedures Recognises and reflects on barriers to effective communication and modifies communication in response Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
