OverviewA Vacancy at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy and dynamic Trauma and Orthopaedics team treating a large number of trauma and elective patients annually. We run daily trauma lists and the successful candidate will be part of a rota including regular trauma among other duties. Our team encourage professional development with a proven track record of successful conversion of ST1/2 posts to training placements. Duties are based across the 3 Trust sites, primarily at Watford General Hospital and St Albans City Hospital. You will be accountable to the Trauma & Orthopaedic Consultants. This appointment is full time, and the contract of employment is for a 12-month period from the start date. This post will allow candidates to get a breadth of knowledge and experience across all orthopaedic specialities. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the orthopaedic on-call rota with an active role as part of the trauma team. The main duties of the post will involve seeing, diagnosing, and treating Trauma & Orthopaedics patients, referring to other clinicians or general practitioners where appropriate. You will be expected to work closely with appropriate nursing, professional, technical, and administrative and support staff. With a new hospital planned for Watford and work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital, this is an exciting time to join us. The successful applicant will be required to take part in the Orthopaedic Trust Appointed ST1/ST2 Level Doctor on call rota.
