Transport Specialist Company: Caterpillar Inc. Location: Larne, UK Contract: Permanent Closing Date: 16th December 2025 Salary: £29,000 – £36,000 depending upon experience Compensation Grade: 20 Career Area Supply Chain and Logistics Job Summary As a member of the Outbound Prime Product Logistics Team, you will play a vital role in driving transportation operational efficiencies & processes for Prime Products moving from EAME facilities to dealers or end customers internationally. Integrated with orders management and planning processes, you will plan and execute international transportation shipments to reduce variations, improve resiliency and optimise velocity vs cost. What You Will Do Manage the planning and execution of transportation operations for finished products from production centers in EAME to dealers in region and overseas. Own the operational performance metrics (velocity, cost, data quality, CO2 emissions) and work across teams to achieve the targets. Leverage systems, business intelligence dashboards and relationships to identify improvement opportunities. Act as a project lead for continuous improvement or larger transformational initiatives. Plan the required short‑term and medium‑term transportation capacity based on plant production volume and liaise with supply‑chain partners. Review and identify areas for improvement through performance management of our carriers. Proactively communicate and maintain relationships with supply‑chain partners and customers. Develop and document processes for standardisation and continuous improvement. Develop in‑depth business knowledge of product and customer requirements. What You Will Have - Process Management Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control or enhance existing business or work processes. Level Basic Understanding - Process Flow Interpret process flow diagrams. Explain differences between a process and a project. Identify process management initiatives in own area. Analytical Thinking Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organisational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Level Basic Understanding - Analytical Tools Name specific tools or techniques that can be used to support the analytical thinking process. Describe specific software applications or products used for business analytics. Give examples of how analytical thinking has been used to resolve problems. Problem Solving Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognising, anticipating and resolving organisational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Level Basic Understanding - Problem Solving Practices Explain the value of a disciplined approach to problem solving. Describe problem reporting and escalation practices. Utilise accepted procedures for problem analysis and resolution. Identify key aspects of problem‑solving techniques used in own area. Relationship Management Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors and peers. Level Basic Understanding - Relationship Skills Provide examples of the characteristics of effective business relationships. Identify key business relationships in own organisation. Describe the nature of a productive business relationship. Explain the benefits of building business partnerships. Top Candidate Will Also Have Bachelor degree in Supply chain, engineering or business administration (Master is a plus) or equivalent experience. Proficient in English, optional other languages. Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook). Good to have: Good working knowledge of Visio, Salesforce. Appetite to learn and understand the flow of data between Transportation Management Systems. Practical knowledge and willingness to learn about new skills (especially around AI savviness, Power BI, Power Automate). 25% travel.
