Overview Senior Electrical Design EngineerSalary: 48,000 – 60,000Location: Gateshead About the Role You will lead the electrical design for a range of projects, from concept and detailed design to installation support and commissioning. Projects span retail, education, healthcare, residential and commercial developments, giving you exposure to diverse and technically interesting work. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of the team, helping ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. This is an office–based role with a collaborative, hands–on culture. You will work closely with colleagues, clients and contractors, with opportunities to develop your technical and leadership skills. Key Responsibilities Lead electrical design for building services projects with minimal supervisionMentor and guide a small team of engineersPlan, manage and deliver projects to agreed budgets and timelinesLiaise directly with clients, contractors and suppliersProvide technical input and support throughout installation and commissioning stagesDeliver solutions compliant with current regulations and sustainability standards The Ideal Candidate Proven experience in electrical design within a multi–disciplinary engineering consultancyKnowledge of 230V power distribution systemsProficient in electrical CAD packages such as Amtech and DialuxExperience working to ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management standardsDegree–qualified in electrical engineering, with chartership preferred or underwayStrong communicator, able to work independently and collaborativelyKnowledge of current wiring regulations is desirable Benefits Basic salary of 48,000 – 60,000Three–month probation salary review and annual review thereafterDiscretionary bonus for high achieversPrivate healthcarePension scheme and death in service benefit23 days annual leave plus early finish FridaysSupport for qualifications and professional developmentOpportunity to work in a small, growing, and supportive team environmentExposure to a wide variety of technically interesting projects If you are looking for a role where you can lead projects, mentor a small team, and develop your technical expertise in a collaborative, office–focused environment, this is an excellent opportunity to join a respected MEP consultancy in Gateshead.
