About the roleABC Teachers is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Classroom Assistant to work part time in SEN Schools in Coventry on a day-to-day supply basis.ResponsibilitiesProvide individualised support to students with SEN including autism and speech, language and communication needs.Work alongside a class teacher and a team of experienced support staff to assist with the general day-to-day running of the classrooms.Build a quick rapport with the students to support their educational, social and emotional development.Offer 1‑1 or small group support, aiding in academic tasks, social interactions and behaviour management.About the schoolThe schools cater to students with a broad spectrum of special educational needs with the aim of creating the best environment for all pupils. The schools focus on creating a curriculum that recognises individual talents and personalities which encourage all to flourish.About youHave previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism and looked‑after children.Experience with non‑verbal children is desirable but not essential.Suitable qualifications such as Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.Have strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.Safeguarding and DBSABC Teachers is committed to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
