The post holder will play an active role in the general workload of the department, with an interest in reporting gynaecological histology. The successful candidate will join an impressive team dedicated to providing a first‑class service and will work at the Conquest site. Responsibilities Provide a first‑class service for gynaecological pathology and other core specialities (breast, dermatopathology, gastrointestinal, uropathology, and diagnostic cytopathology). Effective leadership and support for all staff engaged in the specialty. Sustain and develop teaching activities at ESHT. Undertake all work in accordance with the Trust’s procedures, operating policies, and contractual requirements. Conduct clinical practice within the parameters of the Trust’s service plans. Enable and support remote reporting where appropriate. Lead Histopathologist for Cervical Screening Histology In addition to the above, the post includes the sub‑title of Lead Histopathologist for Cervical Screening Histology. The primary role is to ensure that the Cellular Pathology department adheres to national guidance and meets programme standards in cervical histology reporting. This element will be included in the annual appraisal. Qualifications Registered medical practitioner with a GMC licence to practice and specialist registration (or within 6 months of completing your CCT). Hold MRCPath/FRCPath or an equivalent level qualification. Experience with digital pathology reporting (Sectra PACS/Digital Pathology) is desirable. Established working knowledge of a Warwick workload allocation system and double reporting for cancer cases. Applicants should be based in or be willing to relocate to East Sussex.
