EHS Advisor – Inverness Office

Location: Elgin Town Hall Project / Inverness regional office / other projects as requiredAccountable for: All issues relating to the current and future legislation and practiceJob Purpose:Taylor and Fraser senior management team are committed to ensuring as an organisation we excel in complying with our statutory requirements and as such we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor to join our team to support our projects and promote compliance with our Environmental Health & Safety Management Systems.The successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing organisation and to support Taylor and Fraser’s aspiration to achieve high level performance in terms of Health, Safety, Welfare, and Environment (SWHE). Responsible for ensuring that all health and safety regulations and standards are adhered to on our projects. This role involves assessing risks,implementing safety measures, and promoting a culture of safety across all levels of the organisation.Reporting to the EHS ManagerSupport the EHS Manager in developing and enforcing EHS policies and proceduresResponsible for monitoring the sites EHS performance, identifying and taking proactive measures to improve performance shortfalls.Conduct regular risk assessments and Identify potential hazards and implement control measures to mitigate risks.Assist operational teams in reviewing sub-contractors risk assessments / method statements to ensure they are adequate.Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and report findings to senior management, recommending corrective actions where necessaryInvestigate incidents and near-misses, assist with root cause analysis, and support implementation of corrective actionsCoordinate and deliver EHS training and emergency response drills for all staff and contractorsMaintain accurate EHS records and prepare required reports for internal and external stakeholdersPromote sustainability, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives across operationsPerform routine site inspections and EHS audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvementAssist in the development and execution of emergency preparedness and response plans, including fire drills and spill responseAdvise teams on proper use and selection of personal protective equipment (PPE)Facilitate communication and engagement on EHS topics between leadership, employees, and contractorsStay up to date on relevant EHS regulations and best practices, providing guidance on compliance and risk reductionParticipate in cross-functional meetings to integrate EHS considerations into operational planning.Support initiatives for improving environmental performance, such as reducing emissions and energy use.Organize and deliver health and safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors.Ensure all personnel are adequately trained in emergency procedures andthe use of safety equipment.Comply with all aspects of the Company’s ISO standards: Quality management – ISO 9001:2015 / Environmental – ISO 14001: 2015 / Occupational health and safety management – ISO 45001:2018,proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme.NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and relevant professional membership (e.g. IOSH, IIRSM).Minimal 5 years’ experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in the construction industry.Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and regulations.Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.A proactive, collaborative mindset and a genuine desire to make a differenceProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr
