OverviewBMS Technician - Royal Victoria Infirmary, NewcastleLocation: Royal Victoria Infirmary, NewcastleContract: Full-time, PermanentReports to: Account ManagerSalary: 57k plus benefitsWe're looking for an experienced BMS Technician to join our estates team at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. You'll play a key role in maintaining and optimising advanced Building Management Systems (BMS) and associated plant to ensure the hospital operates efficiently, safely, and sustainably. Key Responsibilities Carry out PPM, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems. Maintain and optimise the Building Management System (BMS) to maximise energy efficiency. Support delivery of annual energy targets through analysis and reporting. Act as the site expert on BMS systems, providing guidance and training to team members. Respond to breakdowns and ensure minimal system downtime through effective disaster recovery planning. Maintain accurate maintenance records and comply with Health & Safety procedures. Participate in the on-call rota and undertake training as required. About You Completed recognised engineering apprenticeship with City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 / BTEC or equivalent. Proven experience with large-scale BMS systems, ideally Schneider Continuum or EcoStruxure. Strong understanding of BMS energy management, HVAC systems, and electrical wiring practices. Familiar with Bacnet, Modbus, and Mbus protocols. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Knowledge of CHP, boilers, chillers, and heat pumps is desirable. 18th Edition and C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing qualifications are advantageous.
