Head of School Development (0.6 FTE) Key Role Responsibilities as Head of School Development: To have a clear understanding of, and contribute to, the Head’s and Foundation Trustees’ vision for the school and the Foundation To act as NHP’s key liaison with the Foundation and its trustees, including scheduling, preparing for, and reporting on progress at a termly Trustee meeting To regularly report fundraising and community partnership updates to the Senior Leadership Team, Foundation Chairs and Governors To research and identify potential philanthropic revenue streams, to maximise current income streams (including ‘giving’ days, fee add‑ons, leavers’ deposits, deposit pledges on arrival, events and individual giving), and to provide information and insight into opportunities to generate further donations To be aware of charity law and tax‑efficient giving and its impact on fundraising To promote the work of the Foundation to the outside community To work with the Parents’ Association to promote the work of the Foundation within the school To ensure fundraising policies are kept up to date Fundraising and Stewardship To build and maintain the bursary programme, driving the fundraising required for a long‑term expansion model To maintain relationships with parents and maximise opportunities with current and prospective donors through individual and regular giving To deliver stewardship to all donors and supporters of the Foundation, ensuring regular communication To deliver presentations and written submissions to prospective donors To oversee and grow the Foundation community partnerships programme (Radius), maintaining relationships with our current partnership schools and local charitable organisations To manage the delivery of Radius projects and events, including the completion of relevant administration, and to identify opportunity for further partnerships To arrange tours of the school and meet and entertain prospective donors or alumni as appropriate Communications To prepare fundraising materials to promote and develop the Foundation to key stakeholders (potential and current donors, parents, pupils, staff, former parents and local community groups/organisations) To create and deliver an engaging, termly Foundation newsletter updating on fundraising, partnerships work and volunteering opportunities To manage the Foundation page on the NHP website, updating news regularly To work with the marketing team to submit proposals for upcoming awards and nominations, where relevant To ensure that financial records of the Foundation are accurately maintained and statutory requirements are met, and to work with the Foundation treasurer on the reconciliation of management accounts and other reporting as required To manage Foundation payments to/on behalf of bursary families for all incidentals outlined in the bursary booklet and the timely payment of any other relevant Foundation invoices Administration / Operations To develop, maintain and update a CRM database (currently Toucan Tech) of alumni, past parents, current parents, staff and pupils To effectively use the database to identify and develop donor pipelines, send communications and build newsletters To record all relevant communication and ensure that information is accurate, up to date and compliant with GDPR To complete the NHP governors’ reports on Foundation work as and when requested by the Head of Organisation and Internal Operations To be the direct point of contact for bursary families, liaising with the Deputy Head (Academic) and Bursary Liaison, where necessary To oversee and support the bursary admissions process alongside the Head of Admissions, from promotion and marketing of the bursary award to carrying out home visits (which may occur outside of working hours) General Areas of Responsibility To promote and safeguard the welfare of pupils To comply with the school’s safeguarding & child protection policy and ensure that any concerns relating to the safety or welfare of children are reported immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or the Head To keep up to date with pastoral care policies of the school To comply with the School’s Code of Conduct To read other policies or guidance as and when required to do so by the DSL, Head or other member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) or HR Manager To act consistently, in a calm and supportive manner with colleagues To attend staff meetings, open days, briefings, INSET days, and support other school events and productions, as required To communicate in a timely and appropriate fashion with parents, as and when necessary To participate in any arrangements that may be made for professional reviews To undertake other specific duties which may, from time to time, be reasonably requested by the Head To meet all deadlines for the efficient running of the school To notify the school about personal absence due to illness and gain permission from the
