Main duties of the job What youll do: Assist chefs and catering staff with food preparation, including sandwiches, salads, and vegetables. Maintain a clean, tidy, and hygienic kitchen environment, following clean as you go practices. Wash and sanitise crockery, cutlery, glassware, and cookware to the highest standards. Support meal service and beverage points, ensuring smooth front and back-of-house operations. Manage stock rotation, put away deliveries, and complete associated records. Ensure waste disposal processes are followed and bins are cleaned daily. Communicate allergen information accurately and complete food safety documentation. Job responsibilities Location: The McIndoe Centre, East Grinstead Contract Type: Permanent, 37.50 hours per week Work Pattern: Working 5 out of 7 days on Salary: Between£23,965.50 to £24,082.50per annum Right to Work in the UK: In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencing employment. Able to work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Great communication and teamwork abilities. Level 2 Food Safety (training can be provided). Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential.
