As our Finance Assistant - Projects you will be working within the project delivery function at SRT but liaising closely with a number of departments including the UK & Global Project teams and the wider Finance team. This is an exciting and varied role for a dynamic financial individual seeking to progress their career. You will have experience of controlling budgets and expenses in a project environment such as construction or manufacturing. You must be diligent and precise and take pride in your work as accuracy and consistency are essential for this role. In this position you will work closely with the Projects Finance Director and our multiple project teams both in the UK and abroad to actively control cost and have a meaningful effect on minimising the cost of project delivery. The role of Finance Assistant - Projects is based in our Bristol, UK, office with some flexibility for Hybrid working. Our office is based in Bristol City Centre and therefore easily commutable by car, train or bus. Responsibilities - Finance Assistant - Projects Reporting to the Projects Finance Director and working within the Systems Delivery function, you as the Finance Assistant - Projects will be responsible for engaging with financial matters in the SRT Systems Delivery business, specifically (not exhaustive): Track, record and monitor costs versus budgets for our Global System Projects Maintain accounting ledgers and postings for our projects Liaise with in-country project teams to process and approve project costs against agreed budgets Process purchase orders and ensure that financial paperwork and company processes are followed Support and work with the Projects Finance Director to prepare project financial reports Review invoices to ensure they meet approved limits/agreed contracts Project finance administration Requirements - Finance Assistant - Projects Previous experience working in a construction or manufacturing environment - highly desirable QBE, or hold a professional qualification; or working towards Experience working on international projects is desirable but not essential Uncompromising attention to detail with the ability to think proactively and progressively Appreciation of cultural differences in overseas territories and ability to communicate well with overseas colleagues Solid knowledge of accounting systems and excel Desire to build a solid, secure career with a rapidly growing company Benefits Highly Competitive Salary Matched company pension contributions up to 5% 25 days annual leave rising to 28 days with service Development opportunities Company "Get to know you" days SRT Marine Systems plc are an equal opportunity employer.
