Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Intensive Care Join to apply for the Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Intensive Care role at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. We’re recruiting Senior Clinical Fellows (Locally Employed Doctors) to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for the daily review and management of critically ill adult patients in the critical care department. They will be based on the Intensive Care and High Dependency Units, and will also review and manage critically ill patients throughout the hospital, primarily on the wards and in the emergency department. The rotation in a speciality will reflect the training ambition and needs of the fellow. Applicants will also be part of an on‑call critical care rota on a full shift basis on an EWTD compliant rota. Consultant supervision will be provided at all times, with consultants present on the Intensive Care unit for a minimum of 16 hours per day. Candidates that are non‑GMC registered at the point of application may be considered for this position under the Trust’s International Fellowship Scheme (note there is a £750 admin charge for this scheme). More information about this scheme can be found on our website – link in job description. Under the supervision of the critical‑care consultants you will assist in the assessment, admission, day‑to‑day management, investigation, practical procedures and final discharge of patients. Senior clinical fellows are expected to work at the level of a Specialty Registrar, with increased responsibility for assessment and management of unwell patients in ITU and hospital, and for the supervision of more junior trainees, supported by the consultant body. Some administrative work such as referral letters is part of the usual workload. Active participation in audit is expected. Weekly teaching is compulsory unless on night duties or leave is granted, and provision is made for this in the rota.
