You will be responsible for teaching a skill for life and have the ability to relay information in an informative and helpful way. You will be organising and carrying out lesson plans and assessments, ensuring the safe use and storage of equipment, whilst providing customers with confidence in the water.Halo centres are vital community assets which are well used and supported by the local population. There is always room for growth and you will be a key player in the future of this centre.Hours: - We are looking for a swim teacher who can work a minimum of 3 hours but up to 15 hours a week.Shifts: - Flexible options Set rostered shifts Monday - Friday from 3.30 - 6pm Saturdays 8-11amStart date: To be confirmedDuties and responsibilitiesPlan and carry out swimming lessons to increase customer skill and confidenceProvide feedback to customers to help them improve their swimming skillsEnsure customers are aware of the risks in the water and build confidence to overcome any barriersBeat your targetsRun a safe and clean activity, taking care of the resources which are needed to deliver the services on offerPitch in as needed to help your centre, your manager, your colleaguesPromote our values and expectationsSupport your colleaguesCommit to your own developmentTake part in company training programmesProvide feedback so we can continually improveRespect the privacy rights of customers and colleaguesTake responsibility for your performanceTake an active interest in the company and your centreFollow company policies, procedures and systemsFollow the emergency response planSkills qualities and experienceExperience of instruction groups of mixed age and abilitiesKnowledge of the National Plan for Swimming TeachingHealth and SafetyGood oral communication and interaction skillsFlexible approach to working hours including days, evenings, weekends and bank holidaysWillingness to achieve the NRASTC Light qualification (provided by Halo).
