SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) : Witham Make a Real Difference in a Student's Life. Are you an empathetic, resilient, and patient individual? We are recruiting a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Witham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about breaking down barriers to learning and helping students achieve their full potential. The Role As an LSA, you will work closely with students requiring additional support to access the curriculum. You may be working 1:1 with a specific student or supporting small groups within a classroom setting. Your Key Responsibilities Supporting students with diverse needs (e.g., Autism (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or learning difficulties). Building a strong, trusting rapport with students to encourage engagement and confidence. Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Managing challenging behaviour calmly and effectively using positive reinforcement. Working collaboratively with the Class Teacher and SENCO to adapt resources and learning activities. What We Are Looking For Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (in a school, care, or residential setting) is highly desirable. Attitude: A can-do attitude, patience, and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations. Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential if you have relevant experience). DBS: An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness for one).
