Our client, a leading organisation in the defence and security sector, is seeking a Senior Planning, Monitoring & Control Professional to join their team in Barrow on a contract basis. This role involves crucial contributions to their Submarine Solutions business unit, focusing on project planning and project management within a highly specialised industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing detailed project plans to guide teams and ensure project objectives are met
Monitoring and controlling project progress against the plan, making adjustments where necessary
Implementing project management processes and tools to track project performance and support decision-making
Ensuring adherence to project budgets and timelines
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful project delivery
Preparing regular reports and presentations on project status, including risk management and mitigation strategies
Supporting the business unit with strategic planning and control insights
Providing guidance and leadership to junior team members

Job Requirements:

Significant experience in project planning and project management, preferably within the defence and security industry
Proficiency in using project management tools and methodologies
Strong understanding of monitoring and control practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working arrangement
Security clearance (BPSS & SC) is essential
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant degree or professional qualification in project management or a related field

Contract Details:

Location: Barrow with hybrid working arrangements (2-3 days per week on-site)
Duration: 6 months with the likelihood of extension until September 2026
