Reporting To: Quality Manager
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our clients team in Manchester. This role involves overseeing and ensuring compliance with PSW/PPAP activities both from suppliers and to customers. The successful candidate will coordinate New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring all quality, delivery, and specification requirements are met.
- Manage and oversee PPAP procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Coordinate project teams for New Product Introduction (NPI) activities.
- Organize and lead cross-departmental meetings (Engineering, Programme, Quality, and Manufacturing) to track project progress.
- Serve as the primary contact for both suppliers and customers, providing updates on project performance and addressing any issues.
- Monitor supplier PPAP timings and readiness, ensuring all submissions meet required standards.
- Compile and review documentation for supplier and customer approvals, including APQP preparation, FMEA, and Control Plans.
- Conduct document alignment reviews with both suppliers and customers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with quality-related software.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
- Proactive approach to workload management and problem-solving.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 standards.
- Understanding of PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis) and control plans.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience working across multiple projects with strict deadlines.
- Strong influencing skills, with the ability to engage and lead individuals or groups.
- Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience).
- Early Friday finish at 3:30 PM
