Working across a wide range of sectors, including pensions and benefits, investments, insurance, energy, health, sports, and data analytics, we help our clients navigate complexity in order to take the action that matters.Who are the department and what is the role?This is a vacancy for a Trainee Accounts Assistant who will work as part of the Pensions Administration Department’s accounting team, providing accounting services to clients and other teams within the firm. The successful candidate will be based in Winchester but may, from time to time, be required to work in our London office.ResponsibilitiesThe main tasks that the person will be involved with are as follows:Preparing Pension Scheme Report & Accounts for Schemes within timescales for a portfolio of clients involving:Reconciliation of investments and AVC accounts, preparation of statutory pension scheme Trustee Report and Accounts with supporting working papers, including preparation of the Trustee’s Report and any other accompanying informationManaging auditors through the audit process, ensuring that the provision of information and resolution of queries are completed to enable the accounts to be completed within the legally prescribed timescales and client requirementsAttendance at client and auditor meetings as requiredProvide assistance and support with ad-hoc team projectsWork to developing knowledge within team with a view to eventually assisting with various elements of checking workSkills, experience and qualitiesNumerate, accurate and detail orientatedUse of initiative and common senseCan work well as part of a team, and on their own where requiredGood communication skills (both written and verbal)Well organisedWhat’s in it for you?Take a look at our Glassdoor page to see why our people love being here As well as joining a multi-award winning, fun, collaborative, people first organisation where your personal and professional skills will be developed to make you the best you can be, we offer an attractive benefits package designed to promote your overall wellbeing so that you are able to perform to your full potential both in and out of work.
