Roehampton Gate School is recruiting an Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy team. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate may be experienced in a special needs environment or newly qualified and will be required to work closely with other Therapists and professionals providing support to students; the role reports to the Therapy Manager. Responsibilities Manage and co‑ordinate your own caseload and implement individual EHCP / treatment plans for occupational therapy services, ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered effectively and communicated clearly. Receive and respond promptly to new students undertaking assessments to identify and prioritise student needs, then plan and deliver the appropriate and relevant interventions on an individual or group basis. Maintain accurate and timely records detailing each student’s progress and complete Annual Review records when required. Ensure the management of sensory profiles across the whole school, advising staff and ensuring correct implementation. Maintain and develop close working relationships with school teaching and support staff. Ensure clinical practice aligns with school policies, procedures, statutory regulations and quality standards. Contribute to business growth by actively promoting the school’s therapy services and meeting personal and school targets. Maintain effective communication links with students, parents, carers and purchasers. Undertake training for school staff in line with EHCP requirements, including individual and group support. Advise teaching and support staff throughout the academic year to develop a strong ethos that collaborates therapy and education practice. Link OT into the classroom setting, ensuring a strong collaborative environment. Submit requests for equipment, in line with supporting the progress of all students. Qualifications & Requirements Registered Occupational Therapist holding a BSc in Occupational Therapy or a profession‑specific equivalent qualification. Willingness to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including Disclosure & Barring Service checks and at least two references covering the last three years from experience with children or vulnerable adults. Roehampton Gate School is a purpose‑built day school for young people with autistic spectrum disorders, situated on Priory Lane. The modern building is designed to accommodate up to 70 pupils and includes specialist rooms for information technology, art, food technology, science, music, and exclusive sensory and therapy suites.
