Design Manager | Hertfordshire (Office Based) | Main Contractor | October 2025Join a well-established design & build contractor delivering technically complex commercial and self-storage schemes across London and the South East.You'll take full ownership of design coordination and BREEAM compliance across multiple live projects from consultant appointments through to certification and handover.This is a standalone role with real responsibility from day one, working closely with the Construction Director and project delivery teams as the company continues to grow.The RoleAppoint and coordinate architects, engineers, and specialist design consultantsControl drawing information via the project portal and issue updates to site teamsManage statutory authority approvals, building control, and warranty providersLead the BREEAM process from design through to post-construction certificationCoordinate subcontractor design information and ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirementsConduct post-construction reviews to improve future design deliveryWhat they're looking forProven experience as a Design Manager or Technical Manager (main contractor or developer)Strong understanding of BREEAM procedures and sustainability coordinationBackground in light industrial, commercial, or self-storage projectsComfortable working independently in a fast-paced environmentTechnically strong, well-organised, and confident communicating with design teams, clients, and authoritiesThe CompanyThis is a long-established design & build contractor based in Hertfordshire, with projects across London and the surrounding counties.
