We are seeking to appoint a qualified, enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant (Level 3 SEN) Behaviour to support our dedicated Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both students and staff to promote positive behaviour for learning, implement targeted strategies, and contribute to a safe, supportive school environment. It is a permanent post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days and 1 additional week worked across the school year. The starting salary is £24,998 and the full time equivalent is £29,064 Grade 5. This role will start as soon as pre‑employment checks are complete. Main purpose of the role: You will work across the school to support teaching, learning, and behaviour management, as directed by teaching and senior staff. You will work closely with the Behaviour Team to provide interventions and guidance that improve students’ emotional regulation, engagement, and overall progress. You must be able to build strong relationships across the school community including with pupils, staff, parents, and external professionals. Key responsibilities will include: Respond promptly to behaviour incidents and support pupils in managing emotions and maintaining a safe, positive learning environment. Work proactively with staff, families, and external agencies to develop individualised behaviour strategies and interventions. Support the emotional and social development of pupils through structured programmes and positive reinforcement. Collaborate with class teachers, the Support for Learning Team, and Safeguarding Team to ensure consistent support for pupils presenting with challenging behaviours. Keep detailed records of behaviour incidents and interventions, and contribute to regular reporting to the Behaviour Lead. Who we are looking for: Qualified to Level 3, Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification or experience. Proven experience working with young people who display challenging behaviour and/or social, emotional, and mental health needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents/carers, and external agencies.
