Head of Engineering Imagine leading a talented, multi-disciplinary engineering team, shaping strategy, building culture, and enabling innovation across complex product development. This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role where you will influence the future of the team, drive performance, and empower engineers to deliver their best work. You will oversee a growing team of around 20 engineers across mechanical, electronics, and software disciplines, reporting to the CTO and working closely with the Chief Engineer to maintain technical excellence. You will set the vision, develop strategies, and ensure resources are allocated effectively, while fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and innovative culture. This is a role for someone who combines strong people leadership with deep technical credibility. You will coach, mentor, and develop individuals at different career stages, shape engineering standards, and support recruitment and team growth to meet ambitious goals. Autonomy is real, and you will work in an environment that values ideas, agility, and creativity without unnecessary bureaucracy. As a senior member of the management team, you will work across departments to align engineering efforts with business goals, manage budgets, and ensure the team thrives while delivering complex electro-mechanical products from concept to production. You will lead by example, fostering collaboration between software, mechanical, and electronics engineers, and ensure technical excellence across the full product lifecycle. Skills and Experience We Are Looking For Proven experience in technical leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams, including mechanical, electronics, and software disciplines Strong understanding of the full product lifecycle for complex electro-mechanical systems Hands‑on technical credibility and the ability to earn the respect of a diverse engineering team Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers at different career stages Ability to set strategy, manage resources, and align engineering efforts with business objectives Skilled at fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and innovative team culture Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and prioritisation skills in a fast‑paced, scale‑up environment Resilient, adaptable, and able to lead by example This is a site based role, with relocation assistance available #J-18808-Ljbffr
