We have an opportunity for a Lead Theatre Practitioner to join our team of staff in the theatre department. This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Duties of this role include : Lead the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care across the perioperative pathway acting as a specialist or functional lead within the team. Ensure that all patient safety checks including WHO surgical safety processes are carried out in accordance with hospital policy. Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for theatre practitioners and support staff fostering a culture of professionalism, compassion and accountability. Support the development and assessment of competencies within the team promoting continuous professional development. Act as an advocate for patients ensuring their rights, safety and dignity are upheld at all times. Raise concerns where standards of care or safeguarding protocols are not met in line with Circle Health Group policy. Applicants should meet the following criteria : NMC or HCPC registered practitioner with significant experience in a theatre environment (e.g., scrub recovery or anaesthetics). Demonstrated clinical leadership experience and ability to act as a role model to peers. Strong understanding of patient safety protocols, safeguarding, infection control and clinical governance. Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification for scrub leads. ENB 998 and / or mentorship course. Approved / recognised anaesthetic course. Must have experience in Endoscopy and JAG.
