At Irwin and Colton, we're partnering with a UK leader in the highways sector to identify a proactive and skilled Health and Safety Advisor. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven professional to join an established health and safety team renowned for their outstanding track record in delivering projects. You'll play a pivotal role, focusing on one of the organisation's frameworks in Suffolk. Experience with highways is desirable but not essential; this organisation is also interested in considering more junior individuals who are interested in growing and developing within the organisation. Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Advisor include: Implementing health and safety policies and procedures on site, ensuring compliance and keeping updated with key changes to legislation. Visiting sites and engaging with managers, ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical health and safety-related inquiries. Conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations, constantly seeking areas for improvement and development in health and safety performance. Engaging with the client and other external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact. The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have: Experience in a similar role, ideally within construction, Highways, or Civil engineering. Hold a NEBOSH Certificate and ideally be a member of IOSH. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. Good communication skills with the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders. This position requires a self-starter who can lead by example and hit the ground running.
