Commercial Contracts Manager – Severn Trent Services (Permanent – 12‑month fixed‑term contract) Salary: £42,550 – £55,000. Overview Severn Trent Services, a commercial arm of the Severn Trent Group, is looking for a Commercial Contracts Manager to support the delivery of profitable contracts, provide commercial oversight, and ensure customers and suppliers are engaged on favourable terms. Key Responsibilities Review customer terms, conditions and tender documents for new opportunities, identifying risks and opportunities and leading negotiations to secure favourable terms. Ensure all parties understand their obligations and responsibilities. Mitigate risks through proactive dispute and contingency management. Identify cost‑saving opportunities. Align customer terms with our supply‑chain contracts. Lead the investigation and resolution of internal contract scope queries, including review of land registry and lease documents for MoD contracts. Liaise with internal stakeholders (Legal, Insurance, Service Delivery, Engineering, Finance, Contract Management). Represent Severn Trent Services in commercial and contractual meetings with key clients such as the Ministry of Defence. What You’ll Bring To The Role Experienced Contract / Commercial Manager, preferably with water or utilities sector exposure. Familiarity with commercial terms and conditions and standard contract forms, ideally NEC3/4. Practical experience of getting projects into contract and managing commercial risk. Excellent communication skills across varied audiences and strong business acumen. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management. Professional qualification (MICE, MRICS, CIPS) is desirable; we will consider those working towards it. Working knowledge of PFI/PPP contracts and water‑sector experience is advantageous but not essential. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
