HLTA - High Learning Teaching Assistant Location: OldhamContract: Full-time, TemporaryStart Date: ASAPPay Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a rewarding role in a primary school? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a supportive team and make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs. In this role you will be supporting a variety of year groups. Job Responsibilities Deliver planned lessons and interventions under the guidance of the class teacher. Lead small group and one-to-one sessions to support learning and development. Cover whole classes during teacher absence. Adapt resources and activities to meet individual pupil needs. Implement behaviour management strategies and promote positive behaviour. Assist with personal care and emotional regulation where required. Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and SENCO. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment. Contribute to the preparation of classroom materials and displays. Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times. Requirements HLTA qualification or equivalent experience. Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults with complex needs. Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Excellent communication and behaviour management skills. Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs. Employment references covering the last 24 months.
