Healthcare Assistant – Practice Plus Group Salary: £25,557 – £29,723. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Sunday, four long shifts per week (7 am–5 pm) and 1 weekend in 3. Overview Here at Practice Plus Group, we are looking for a healthcare assistant to join the Substance Misuse team at HMP Altcourse – the busiest remand prison in the country Is it challenging? This role sits within our Substance Misuse Service, but SMS experience isn’t essential – we can train you It is important that you have an interest in Substance Misuse and are keen to learn in this area. We’re looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to help deliver the best care possible. Responsibilities Run clinics on the wings, including bloods and vaccinations. Be involved in care packages, including phlebotomy, venepuncture, ECGs and observations. Respond to emergency situations. Work with the wider nursing team across the prison. Requirements Experience in, or a keen interest in Substance Misuse. NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or Care Certificate. Clinical knowledge – venepuncture, phlebotomy would be a bonus.
