**PURPOSE OF ROLE**
This role sits within our Rating Team and the purpose of this role is to provide assistance with the management of business rates, review client property and rates mitigation. Requiring effective and efficient high level administrative skills this role is key in supporting clients with their requirements in terms of rates mitigation.
This is a part-time role and we will be flexible with the working pattern.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Input and review client business rates bills for payment onto our specialist rating software.
- Review client properties and business rates savings strategies to ensure rates bills are correct.
- Follow up with local councils to claim rates bill discounts or credits.
- Review tenancy schedules and leases, ensuring records are correct.
- Notify local councils of changes to client properties following client property review or work undertaken by Alder King.
- Liaise with the Accounts Team in order to maintain account records and approve business rates payments.
- Liaise with clients for submission of funding requests and invoices.
- Set up hard copy and electronic files, scanning and photocopying relevant documents for retention.
- Ensure the database is accurate and up to date at all times.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with this level of position as requested by SMB.
**GENERAL**

- Consistently produce high quality work which, at a minimum, meets client’s expectations. In addition, work collaboratively with third parties as appropriate to ensure you exceed client requirements.
- Willingly share relevant and appropriate knowledge with colleagues and support their development as required.
**QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Be fluent with all Microsoft packages and relevant to the role IT packages. Working knowledge of Riverlake Software system would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A highly motivated commercial approach, with ability to work as part of a team and be a self-starter working on your own initiative.
- Have strong research, analytical skills and reporting skills.
- Have resilience to work under pressure; have excellent prioritisation, time management, organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Possess excellent/good communication and inter-personal skills and, deliver information clearly and succinctly.
- Be proactive and receptive to change, hold a positive ‘can do’ attitude and uphold the highest level of professionalism at all times.
**PRIMARY LOCATION**
The role will be based within the Bristol office.
