REED is a specialist provider of permanent, contract, temporary and outsourced recruitment solutions.

We are recruiting for a Transition Manager to support a national policing team based in West Brompton as it transition a key service. The Transition Manager is responsible for engaging and assisting project managers, and IT Service Owners with transitioningold and new services into the ‘Live’ environment.

The key responsibility is to easily transition ICT services into policing supporting organisations.

Hybrid working arrangements are in place for the role

**Job Summary**

The Transition Manager role will be required to support the transition of a key service that is currently being replaced. The existing service model requires review and update, and a new model needs to be agreed and implemented in consultation with key stakeholders.

The role will primarily be on this single project, but other transition tasks in support of other projects may be assigned as appropriate.

**Ket tasks include**
- Lead the service transition gates, i.e. ‘Start Up’, Operational Readiness, Entry into live service, Business as Usual Gates.
- Ensure all Service Owners are ready to accept the new services, or old services that are moving out of ‘live’ and then back into ‘live’.
- Ensure service design across the portfolio remains in place whilst transitioning services into the live environment.
- Provide an assurance function, protecting the BAU estate and existing Service Management capability.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Service Operation is set up and in place.
- Own and write the Operational Working Agreement(s).
- Understand, document and actively manage risks into service.
- Provide support to the Business Change functions, providing advice and guidance on implementation and deployment.
- Review project deliverables for quality and accuracy and enforcing standards.
- Capture and transfer lessons learned for ongoing Programme & Transition planning.

**Essential Skills and qualifications**:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in Service Management.
- The post holder must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience of working within a public sector organisation and have knowledge of the Police.
- Qualified in ITIL Service Transition and Service Design.
- The post holder should have experience of as a Transition Manager on large complex programmes involving many different stakeholders.
- The post holder must have experience in setting up the transition governance required to assure the delivery and output from the ICT Portfolio.

This is a temporary role for an initial 6 months, working full-time paying up to **£550 per day**(inside IR35) depending on the level of experience.
