This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation & payment of payroll for United Kingdom & Ireland regions (UI region), including the preparation and calculation of incentive schemes. The payroll is prepared and run in-house for theUK, and by an external bureau for Ireland. The Payroll Specialist is supported by a Payroll Administrator, reporting to our Head of Compensation & Benefits. **JOB DESCRIPTION**:
- Accurate & timely preparation and review of monthly payroll for the group of Companies including accurate and timely submissions of monthly reporting to HMRC via RTI
- Accurate recording of Benefit in Kind for calculations at source or inclusion in the Annual P11D return, PSA review of qualifying elements, sourcing data and accurately summarising and preparing the calculation
- SAO compliance for record keeping
- Month end journal preparation and submission to Finance team
- Preparing general ledger reconciliations and preparing correcting journals
- Monthly reconciliation of PAYE & NI and preparation of payment
- Submission to external providers for salary sacrifice arrangements and liaison with external agencies for Attachment of Earnings, Court Orders etc
- Supporting HR Operations with calculations for SMP, SAP, SSP (etc)
- Maintenance of payroll system, creating and maintaining new pay elements, costing requirements
- Working closely with Finance on Cost Centre changes and allocations
- Preparation and calculation/review of Incentive calculations
**CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Recognised Payroll qualification or similar evidence of training is preferred
- Previous payroll experience is essential with processing of Year-End, Benefit-in-Kind and salary sacrifice arrangements
- High degree of numeracy
- Be confident working in a small team with tight deadlines
- Review difficult situations to propose a suitable solution and be willing to step in and support other areas of the HR Team
- Good communication skills at all levels
