**Where and when do we need you?**

Fair Ways transition centre based in Wallington is looking for a Therapeutic Learning Practitioner specialising in Sport and Duke of Edinburgh. At Fort Wallington School we specialise in both, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties and autism (ASC). Our primary focus is for staff to support students in their transitional period either to full-time education or working towards a career, in collaboration with their Education Health Plan (EHP).

As a Therapeutic Learning Practitioner, you will be involved exciting and rewarding things like:

- **Monitoring and reviewing student progress -** To review students’ progress using formative and summative assessment to consistently track curriculum data and reports to ensure students are achieving tangible outcomes.
- **Keeping students safe -** To take an active role in safeguarding, understanding the risk assessments and support plans for students, through the use of appropriate systems and procedures to ensure the students are provided with a safe and nurturing environment.
- **Building meaningful professional relationships -** To proactively maintain safe and respectful relationships with students through effective support, guidance and care ensuring the maintenance of safe professional boundaries in line with best practice.
- **Being** a trauma informed practitioner -** To provide trauma informed responses through the individualised use of therapeutic and physical intervention to ensure students are supported appropriately during times of crisis.
- **Thriving as part a supportive team - **Work alongside an amazing team of dedicated professionals who share the common goal of caring for and supporting each Together, we create a nurturing environment where our young people can flourish.
- **Utilising your excellent attention to detail -** To record and report accurately and within the required time frames using the relevant systems and ensuring that all significant information is shared allowing proactive and statutory responses.
- **Supporting your own self-**reflection and professional development** - To recognise your own reactions and feelings in response to evolving crisis situations using opportunities like reflective supervisions and team briefings and to manage personal and continuous professional development through self-assessment, supervision and training.

**Desirable. but not Essential**
- Whilst we value the knowledge and understanding that experience and qualifications can bring, we also know that some of our best people have come to us from unrelated backgrounds. - Have specialist knowledge of a function ideally in Sports/ Duke of Edinburgh. BTEC National Certificate / ONC level or A level or Scottish Highers in a job related discipline, or equivalent advanced craft certificate (City & Guilds Level 3/NVQ 3).
- Previous experience of working with Children and young people with health/social care/educational needs
