Senior Payroll Assistant

RM Recruit are working with a Nuneaton based Not for Profit organisation to recruit a Senior Payroll Assistant for their team. This role will see you contribute to the smooth and timely processing of the payroll including the preparation, review and submissionfor the parent organisation, its subsidiaries, and other associated organisations and ensure they meet statutory, regulatory and auditing requirements.
You remit will include, but not be limited to:
- Ensuring that all staff are paid accurately and on time through the monthly payroll including preparation/input/checking of all payroll information, dealing with starters, leavers, contract changes,
- statutory allowances and deductions, occupational sickness, parental pay and disbursements.
- Ensuring all records are kept in an organised and intuitive manner and follow established processes for payroll administration.
- Liaison with, and reporting to, all relevant stakeholders within the Group and all external bodies (e.g. HMRC / LGPS) to ensure that payroll information is submitted by the appropriate deadlines and in the correct formats.
- Engaging with training, and attend meetings with both internal and external bodies (e.g. auditors and pension providers) on payroll related matters.
- Keeping up to date with all legislative, treasury and statutory updates and process these changes on the relevant systems / records.
- Complete all external regulatory and statutory returns as per the required deadlines to include, but not limited to; the HMRC, Pension Providers, Auditors, Companies House and The Charities Commission.
- The production, analysis and reporting of management information to Finance team within agreed timescales to deliver reports that provide detailed information on significant variances, reflect goodpractice, and include KPIs.
- Taking a lead role in the project delivery and implementation related to Payroll activity, against agreed plans, in budget and within agreed time frames.
- Plan, implement and deliver cross company payroll related training for all groups of staff (e.g. new starters and managers) to ensure a high standard of financial management skills in relation to Payroll activities.
- Working closely with and deputising for the Payroll Manager and other direct reports as required.
