Accountancy Assistant

As the Accountancy Assistant you will provide support to Accountants whilst undertaking clerical tasks such as typing, filing, making phone calls, handling mail and basic Bookkeeping.
**Client Details**
My client is looking to hire an Accountancy Assistant on an ongoing contract to join their finance department based in York. My client are part of the Public Sector and Government Sector and are well established.
**Description**
Key responsibilities;
- Control and maintenance of balance sheet information (losses and compensations; cash management; annual accounts)
- Input data and produce ad hoc reports
- Deal with routine and complex queries both internally and from customers
- Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Any other relevant ad-hoc duties in support of finance team
- Data entry, including scanning and inputting invoice details
**Profile**
Successful Accountancy Assistant;
- Have worked in a similar role
- Some Payroll knowledge
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively on complex matters
- Experience of dealing with control accounts and reconciliations
- Experience of using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
- Good attention to detail
- Flexibility
