**About the role**
Cheltenham are an extremely ambitious Council - committed to becoming carbon net zero by 2030 and the Cyber Capital of the UK all whilst continuing to support all our communities as the town emerges from the pandemic and into equally uncertain times. And our ambitions are more than words - we have won national awards for our commercial approach as a Council and our Golden Valley development has recently been named in the Government’s National Cyber Strategy.
Following the Council’s recent organisational review we are looking for an Estates Surveyor to be a key part of the team responsible for some of the most significant asset management undertaken by our Council in recent years. The Council recognise the huge importance of delivering growth and economic development post pandemic and you will have a front row seat in driving the asset management of key projects in and around the town.
The organisational review has also recognised the renewed importance of maintaining our commercial focus and this role will support the vital asset management support for this refresh as well as measuring the success of projects and opportunities brought forward for implementation.
**To be successful you will need**
- Honours degree of 2.2 or above (relevant experience or qualification can be considered as an alternative)
- Good level of IT skills and MS Office
- Communicates effectively at all levels (excellent verbal and written skills)
- To be client focused, responsive and co-operative
- To be proactive/self-motivated
- Able to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with current data protection legislation
