**Salary: Grade J £21,677 - £23,188 pa pro rata**:
**Permanent, part time post-22.2 hours per week (0.6 FTE/3 days per week)**:
**About us**:
The Lake District National Park Authority looks after this unique corner of England, encouraging people to enjoy and understand its beauty and helping those who live and work here. Our staff include rangers and field workers, advisers at our visitor centres, planners and more. We also host around 500 volunteers who make a vital contribution to the work of looking after the National Park in a large variety of roles. We’re looking for someone to join the small friendly team who support and enable those volunteers.
Our volunteer opportunities span a range of activities, including guided walks, visitor welcome roles, archaeology and important conservation work. We love working with them and are looking for enthusiastic people to come and join us in supporting their important work.
**About the role**:
This role will coordinate our volunteer led outreach programmes, focussing on three main areas: our volunteer led walks programme, our Young Ranger scheme and working with volunteers to provide activities for community groups who currently struggle to access the National Park.
The Volunteer Outreach Coordinator will play a vital role in delivering towards the Lake District for Everyone priority for the LDNPA. The role will be based at Murley Moss alongside other members of the Volunteers Coordination Team, but to be successful at engaging with our local communities will need to spend time throughout Cumbria. There will be opportunity to join volunteering activities to support their development. To broaden our ability to support opportunities for all, there will be some evening and weekend working involved in this role.
You’ll be based at our recently refurbished offices, Wayfaring House in Kendal but we’re set up for hybrid working and can accommodate some working from home and from other locations across the National Park. You’ll be provided with a laptop to enable you to access our secure IT network when working remotely.
**Main duties and responsibilities**:
- Working with voluntary coordinators to run a Park wide programme of walks to engage visitors with the Lake District
- Coordinating a programme of activities for our 14-18-year-old volunteer ‘Young Rangers’ and supporting volunteer leaders.
- Working with the Volunteer Team Leader to develop opportunities for groups currently not accessing the National Park.
- Contributing to the efficient running of the Volunteer Coordination Team
Please read the attached role profile for the full person specification on this post.
**About you**:
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate significant people and communication skills and be confident in working with and supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds. Experience in volunteer management is essential, as the post holder will directly or indirectly supervise approximately 100 volunteers in different roles. An understanding of working with under 18s is desirable. As the role has three focus areas, an ability to effectively plan and prioritise a varied workload will be important.
**Benefits**:
- Working with us, you’ll enjoy:
- Generous Pension Scheme
- Electric car and Cycle to Work schemes
- Paid time off so you can volunteer
- Subsidised healthcare scheme
See our website for a complete list of our employee benefits.

**Key dates**:
- Interviews will be held at Lake District National Park Authority on a date TBC
**How to apply**:
