- Provide expert advice on all aspects of peri-operative care.
- Ensure that peri-operative services are standardised across all four care organisations so that inequalities of access are addressed, and all patients receive reliable high quality, safe and effective peri-operative care.
- Design and direct the NCA Theatres Excellence programme.
- Lead on the planning, development and delivery of multi-site services to ensure that there is an understanding of capacity and demand with clear operational plans to deliver operative care in the most appropriate settings.
- Lead the development of a sustainable peri-operative workforce to meet the strategic needs of the organisation.
- Planning and manage services to ensure the best possible use of resources. This will include delivering efficiencies along with recommendations from benchmarking tools such as HED, Model Hospital and GIRFT.
- Provide leadership, development and direction to the identified theatre leaders in each care organisation building cohesive and connected professional teams and leaders.
- Represent the NCA at regional and national peri-operative groups
