The Roles

These roles will be responsible for all elements of design delivery and will be responsible for:
Materials, mechanical principles, and manufacturing techniques

Design of machines, equipment, or products, spread across the full design life cycle

Liaison with clients whilst working with the team to budget and plan engineering projects across various industrial sectors.

Assisting development of design specifications, statement of requirements and feasibility studies

Use of problem-solving tools and error-proofing techniques

You will lead project technical deliverables, taking ownership to ensure work meets or exceeds agreed customer requirements, and is delivered within agreed budgets and timescales.

As well as the above responsibilities, you will be involved in all aspects of the project delivery, taking overall ownership and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, technical support of commissioning, management of project budget and deliverables.

The Person

Working within a project-based environment you must have extensive knowledge of mechanical and /or machine design, materials, relevant directives, regulations and standards, mechanical principles, and manufacturing techniques.

Produce creative solutions to complex problems and deliver on these from concept to physical realisation, both for clients and within the business.

Demonstrable knowledge of problem-solving tools and error-proofing techniques, taking the initiative to pro-actively resolve where identified.

Experience writing test specifications and design of experiments or other techniques to provide systematic testing.

Design exposure within electrical, electronic, pneumatic, or hydraulic components, PLC hardware and FEA simulations would prove advantageous.

Working knowledge of Siemens NX, Solidworks, or other CAD software package.

Experience working with the Machinery Directive and CE/UKCA marking guidelines.

Working knowledge of FEA, simulations, or surface modelling.
