**Job Title: Temporary Sous Chef**

**Core details**: An exciting and unique temporary opportunity for an experienced chef to join a luxury brand for a period of up to 2 months. This role will see the individual work 40-hours per week across 4 days (flexibility required) and offersa salary of up to £28k p/a. Brand new kitchen within a beautiful rural setting and free parking available.

**The job**: We are working with an award-winning business who are embarking on a very exciting adventure and seeking temporary cover for a period of approx. 2 months to aid them during this time. There may be an option to extend towards theend of the assignment too. This role will:

- Assist the Head Chef with all manner of food preparation, in line with food preparation requirements, on time and to a high standard
- Assist the Head Chef with training of the kitchen team
- Assist with department strategy, drive revenues and manage costs while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
- Management of the kitchen balance sheet, ensuring revenue and profit targets are met
- Ensure that all Health and Safety procedures are followed, and necessary records are checked and stored
- Ensuring that all environmental health regulations are adhered to all times and liability for the food safety management system and health and safety polices in the absence of the head chef
- Ensuring high cleaning and maintenance standards by managing the completion of daily, weekly, and monthly checklists/paperwork
- Assist as required with event planning
- Flexibility towards days and hours worked due to functions as they arise
- Cover stock control and product ordering in relation to hospitality in the absence of the Head Chef
- Ensure the kitchen is always left to a 5 stars hygiene standard pre & post service
- Provide excellent levels of customer service ensuring outstanding experiences
- Potential to represent the brand at off-site trade events, being an ambassador and promoting brand awareness

**The requirements**: This role is ideal for someone with significant experience in a relevant Sous Chef role, preferably with experience and be supportive with the opening of a new high end food offering (120+ covers). The successful applicantwill have experience of successfully managing high levels of food safety compliance, alongside a good understanding of the wine industry sector for pairings.

The client is looking for someone with a real can-do, hands-on attitude with the gravitas to influence those around them. The applicant should be a creative problem solver as well as a team player who is able to remain self-motivated both independently andalongside the team. They should possess excellent and proactive communication skills in order to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

The applicant will need to drive due to a rural location and be willing to have a DBS check.
