Working within the wider design team, you will play a key role in developing and designing Lucy & Yak products from concept to finalisation, focusing on both shape design and fabric.

**_What you’ll be doing_**
- Play a key role in creating new products for Lucy & Yak’s range - with Shape Design and fabric knowledge being the primary focus
- Use strong technical skills, to work closely with the Product Team, to ensure Designs are fit-for-purpose
- Create mood boards and design visions for new product shapes
- Plan and develop seasonal ranges (shapes, trims and fabrics)
- Create Design briefs
- Keep up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colours and shape
- Liaise closely with sales, buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure items suit the customer, market and price points
- Visit trade shows and manufacturers to source, select and buy fabrics, trims, fastenings and embellishments
- Attend international supplier visits and design inspiration trips multiple times a year
- Work closely with the Product Developer to ensure your designs are executed as envisioned
- Approve Black Seals, fabrics and trims with Product Developer

**_ What you’ll need_**
- 3 years minimum experience in fashion product design
- Strong knowledge and extensive experience working with Fabrics
- Solid understand of garment construction
- Highly competent in using Photoshop and preferably experience using Illustrator
- Design with consistency and brand principles in mind
- Ensure that all designs are in line with Lucy & Yak’s size-inclusivity commitments
- Keep abreast of new technology, design trends and emerging design thinking
- Positive attitude, bags of initiative, brings solutions
- Able to travel internationally - around 4 times a year

**_What you need to know _**
- Based in our central Brighton office
- Permanent full time role
- 4 day/30 hour week with full time salary
- Salary circa 30k
